Smoking Cessation in Shropshire – NRT Supply Service – New opportunity for pharmacies

Community pharmacy contractors in Shropshire (only) have the opportunity to support the council-operated smoking cessation services by providing NRT to patients already receiving motivational support from the council Healthy Lives team.  The service will use a virtual “voucher” sent to pharmacies using PharmOutcomes.

IMPORTANT REGARDING PHARMACY CONTRACT WITH SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL – NEW OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPLY NRT (LOT 2)

Your pharmacy delivers services under an existing contract to Shropshire Council. These services include for example sexual health and drugs and alcohol services. A new lot has been added to the Combined Agreement for Public Health Services in relation to supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products for service users of Shropshire’s Healthy Lives Stop Smoking Service.

Pharmacies in the administrative area of Shropshire Council are therefore invited to deliver against Lot 2 (Supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products).

Scope of Lot 2:

• Pharmacies within administrative area of Shropshire council area
• Supply of specified range of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products to Service Users of Shropshire’s Healthy Lives Stop Smoking Service
• Pharmacies will be paid £2 per NRT item supplied plus reimbursement of NHS Business Services Authority Dictionary of Medicines and Devices cost plus 5% VAT
• Period of contract is February 2025 – March 2029
• use of NRT supply PharmOutcomes template to record activity
• supply of NRT products in line with request in PharmOutcomes NRT supply template
