Vacancy – Services Implementation Lead (Temporary – Maternity Cover)

Our current Services Implementation Lead has now commenced Maternity Leave, and we are seeking a temporary replacement for the period of that leave (initially for 6 months, but potentially until the end of March 2025).

The successful candidate is likely to be a pharmacy professional with extensive experience of community pharmacy, and desirably have worked in other environments such as general practice, PCN or hospital. The position would suit someone looking to broaden their experience, either as a stand alone role or whilst continuing to work in their current role.

Role Summary

The post holder will:

  • Provide first line support and training to Community Pharmacy contractors and GP Practices on Pharmacy First and other community pharmacy services.
  • Work with mainly with community pharmacy contractors but also GPs, PCNs and other NHS stakeholders to develop and deliver pharmacy services across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin – focus on service delivery to benefit contractors and patients.
  • Use data to inform decisions and assist contractors in delivering pharmcy servies in their businesses.
  • Increase the visibility of the Community Pharmacy Shropshire (LPC) amongst contractors & stakeholders, especially with regard to Pharmacy First and other services.

Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications

  • Essential – Previous experience coaching teams and/or individuals
  • Essential – Excellent communication skills
  • Essential – Ability to manage own time
  • Essential – Knowledge of Community Pharmacy and the wider NHS
  • Desirable – Pharmacy qualification recognised by GPhC
  • Desirable – Confident IT skills and ability to manipulate data within Microsoft Excel
  • Desirable – Existing knowledge of the health landscape locally

The role is a remote working role, based from home, the post holder will need to travel across the Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin area we would therefore welcome applicants based anywhere within this geography.

Salary: up to £15 per hour depending on experience, ideally 10-15 hours per week. Nature of employment: temporary employment contract initially for 6 months subject to 2-month probationary period – this may be extended until the end of March 2025.
